FAQ

AP Psychology Practice Test — common questions

Is this a full-length AP Psychology practice test?

Yes. Each AP Psychology practice test runs the same total length as the real AP exam (2 hours 40 minutes), with the official MCQ and free-response section split.

How is the AP Psychology free-response section scored?

Multiple choice is scored automatically. Your FRQ answers get an estimated score against the official scoring guidelines, with feedback on each row. In 1-to-1 lessons, your tutor also marks FRQ answers against the College Board AP Psychology rubric, with feedback on technique and partial credit.

How many AP Psychology practice tests should I sit before May?

Most students sit one full-length AP Psychology practice exam four to six weeks out and a second one to two weeks before the real AP exam, with revision time in between.

How is this different from the AP Psychology Question Bank?

The question bank is for unit-by-unit MCQ and FRQ drilling. The practice test is a timed full paper. Use the bank during term and the practice test in the run-up to May.

How many times can I sit each test?

Twice at most. The second attempt is for sitting the same test again after working on your mistakes, to see how far you have come. The tests stay open on your account for 12 months.
