FAQ

AP Art History Practice Test — common questions

Is this a full-length AP Art History practice test?

Yes. Each AP Art History practice test runs the same total length as the real AP exam (3 hours), with the official MCQ and free-response section split.

How is the AP Art History free-response section scored?

Multiple choice is scored automatically. Your FRQ answers get an estimated score against the official scoring guidelines, with feedback on each row. In 1-to-1 lessons, your tutor also marks FRQ answers against the College Board AP Art History rubric, with feedback on technique and partial credit.

How many AP Art History practice tests should I sit before May?

Most students sit one full-length AP Art History practice exam four to six weeks out and a second one to two weeks before the real AP exam, with revision time in between.

How is this different from the AP Art History Question Bank?

The question bank is for unit-by-unit MCQ and FRQ drilling. The practice test is a timed full paper. Use the bank during term and the practice test in the run-up to May.

How many times can I sit each test?

Twice at most. The second attempt is for sitting the same test again after working on your mistakes, to see how far you have come. The tests stay open on your account for 12 months.
