Go through your AP practice-test mistakes out loud with AI Tutor
When you finish an AP practice test, your score report shows an AI Tutor card for the questions you got wrong or skipped. Open it and the lesson starts on those questions: AI Tutor asks how you approached each one, writes the steps on a shared whiteboard and helps you find the point where your reasoning went off track.

One lesson, four steps
Finish a practice test
Your report lists the multiple-choice questions you missed or left blank and the free-response answers that did not earn full marks. The AI Tutor card sits just above it.
Set the lesson up
Choose the language the lesson opens in, how it runs and one of 4 voices, then allow the microphone. Use a laptop or desktop with headphones if you can.
Talk the question through
AI Tutor puts the question back to you and listens to your reasoning first. When you get stuck it gives the next hint, not the whole answer, and writes each step on the board.
Close it and move on
Once a question makes sense, you close it and pick the next one from the list. The first 2 are free; after that you continue in 30-minute blocks.

Multiple choice and free response are coached differently
Multiple-choice questions
Each question comes back exactly as you saw it: the stimulus, any graph or table, the four options and the answer you chose. AI Tutor knows the key but hears your reasoning before it says anything about it. Mark a different option on the card and it notices which one you picked. Questions you left blank are on the list too.
Free-response questions
Your typed or photographed answer is taken through the question's scoring guidelines one row at a time: together you work out which points were lost and why, and you make the correction yourself. AI Tutor never writes the answer for you; the guidelines' model answer only appears on screen when you press "Show answer".

What is on the lesson screen
A shared whiteboard
AI Tutor writes formulas, graphs and steps one under the other. You can write too: it reads the step you wrote by hand and carries on from there.
The answer is never held back
It asks before it tells, but if you ask for the answer you get it, and the "Show answer" button is always there.
20 lesson languages
Open the lesson in any of 20 languages; after that it follows whichever language you speak. The AP question itself stays in English, as on the exam.
Two ways to run it
"Step by step together": AI Tutor asks and you solve. "Let the AI Tutor explain": it talks you through the solution and you stop it wherever you need to.

What AI Tutor does not do
- It does not predict your score or promise a higher one; the AP scores on practice tests are estimates.
- It works on the AP practice tests you have finished and on the AP question-bank questions you got wrong; it never opens on a test left half-way or on another exam.
- It does not write free-response answers, essays or homework for you.
- There is no calculator on screen in an AP lesson; the working is done together on the board.
- It does not remember earlier lessons: each one knows only the questions of the test you opened it from.
- It does not replace a teacher. If you would like to work one to one, AP tuition is a separate service.
AI Tutor: common questions
Which AP subjects does AI Tutor work on?▾
Every AP practice test you take on this site. The card on your score report opens with that test's wrong and blank questions, whatever the subject; the lesson works the same way in each.
How does the free trial work?▾
You can work through your first 2 mistakes with AI Tutor for free (up to 10 minutes in all). No card is asked for, you only sign in with your TestPrep account, and the free allowance is once per account.
What happens with free-response (FRQ) questions?▾
Your typed or photographed answer is checked against the question's scoring guidelines row by row. You find out together which points were lost and why, and you rewrite it yourself. A free-response answer you left blank, or one that earned full marks, is not part of the lesson.
How do I buy more time?▾
From the time button on the lesson screen, in 30-minute blocks, up to 240 minutes in one payment. You pay on this site by card. Minutes you do not use stay on your account.
Are my lessons recorded?▾
Your voice is not recorded. A written transcript of the conversation and a short note for each question (the kind of mistake, how many hints it took) are kept on your account, and they are deleted when you delete your account.
Can I use it on my phone?▾
The lesson screen is built for a computer, so the question, the whiteboard and your time are all visible at once. A laptop or desktop with a microphone and headphones is the comfortable set-up.
